Podcasting and Vodcasting

Podcasting and vodcasting technology enables the teachers/learners to create presentations as well as share findings with each other. This can be beneficial for students who are in need of reviewing the materials again after class. Say, a CFL (Chinese as a Foreign Language) student learning the Chinese language tomes or an ESL student who want to access information to prepare for a listening comprehension test. Language teachers and learners are beginning to embrace this new technology for educational purposes, yet these two tools are still new to language teaching and learning. Please share your experience or your ideas of implementing podcasting and vodcasting into language classrooms.

Podcasting makes time shifting downloadable audio or video a piece of cake, as long as you have the right tools. At the most basic level, you subscribe to a broadcast channel using iPodder, which watches for updates to the channel and automatically downloads new files to your PC or Mac. It can be use with media player.

Podcasting don't take you too much time, when you download some audio or video. Most of all, podcasting can let you know the latest information from a broadcast by using ipodder. Every update news you want to know will be automatically download in your PC or MAC. However, if you don't have an iPod, all files which you download will not automated transfer of content to any non-iPod portable device. Podcasting is very automatic to download new audio or video, but it is inconvenient that you must own the iPod portable device to use with Windows Media Player.
